Surf Camp Maldivas, Himmafushi
Surf Camp Maldivas, Himmafushi
The Maldives is synonymous with paradise. Dream islands, white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, perfect waves and plenty of marine life define this stunning archipelago. Himafushi is the island where we stayed, a beautiful local island with high-quality waves
Himmafushi Island is one of the inhabited islands of the Kaafu Atoll in the Maldives. It is a local island close to Male, the capital of the Maldives. It is located about 17 kilometres to the north and is 900 metres long and 750 metres wide. Its population is less than 1000 inhabitants. On this beautiful island, you can get away from it all and focus on surfing and enjoying life on an island. There are no banks or ATMs, just a few local souvenir shops and a couple of restaurants
In the Maldives, we stay with guests of a local partner, so expect to meet travellers from different corners of the world who are looking for the same things as you. There are various Villas to rent. One of them is "Natural Surf House". This building has different rooms, double, triple and quadruple rooms sleeping up to 12 people.
We have been providing guests with high-quality surfing courses for over a decade. With our partner in Sri Lanka we know that you are in good hands, we know them well and we invite you to pursue your dream of surfing incredible waves. Start or improve your technique. Island life and surfing vibes
There is a ferry that leaves from time to time to the capital Male, where you will find
everything you need. But that's not what's important as you won't need anything
more than rest to surf the perfect waves you'll find there:
Jail's: Himmafushim wave, located on the east coast of North Male Atoll. This three-section right-hander is a fast wave. One of the most consistent in the area. It works with winds from the southwest which is common in the wave season.
Honky's: Thamburudhoo wave, disabled wave, is the next to Sultans. This left is long and tuning in all sections, it comes out small but gets big. A wave that starts with 6 feet on its takeoff ends up being 8 feet in its final section, called "Fred's Lodge".
Sultan's: Thamburudhoo wave. This is one of the most consistent waves in Male Atoll. This long and excellent right-hander never closes, even when it gets big. The best time is at high tide and winds from the West or North.
Coke's: Wave from Thulusdhoo Island in North Male Atoll (East Coast). Right-handed but intense tube wave. Works at mid to high tide. It works in surfing sea with northwesterly wind, but it also works with westerly and northerly winds.Chicken's: Wave from Villingilimathi Hurra, an uninhabited island in North Male Atoll. Long two-section left that requires speed. Conditions should be perfect NW.NNE (offshore) wind.
Ninjas 's: Wave breaking on the outer reef of Kanifinolhu Resort in North Male Atoll. It is a slow right-hander very good for beginners and boarders, with two sections. It works best in westerly, northwesterly winds and a moderate seal. With more than 4 feet the wave breaks down.
Life at sea
There is no doubt that seeing yourself in the middle of an atoll, enjoying the scenery and travelling by boat, is a breathtaking experience. Little Dhiffushi is an island located in the northern atoll of Male. An excellent beach, good snorkelling and several dive sites make Dhiffushi an attractive island for anyone wishing to travel to the area. As the younger sister of Maafushi, Gulhi is a quiet little island with the best beach in Male's southern atoll. Relaxation, sun and snorkelling are the main attractions. Located next to Male, the artificial island of Hulhumale offers a wide beach and a variety of tours and activities, making it an ideal place to relax, sunbathe and snorkel. Dhangethi, located in the Ari Atoll, is a small and peaceful island with a calm pace, a spectacular beach and from where you can visit photogenic sandbanks, swim with whale sharks and snorkel in the sea.
